Age 77, of Roseburg, Oregon, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2013. She was born in Oconto, WI, on November 10, 1935, to parents Violet Champagne and Leonard Engler.
She moved from Wisconsin, in the late 1940s. She was married 20 years to the father of her children and then was married to the love of her life for 41 years. She was runner up on Queen for a Day, was nominated for Queen of Industries in the last 1960s, was a waitress in numerous restaurants around town and the Diamond Lake Lodge, worked at Winston Police Department for approximately 20 years. She and her husband then enjoyed a working retirement.
She belonged to the Buckaroos, The Bunko Lunch Bunch. Her family was the most important thing in her life. Her idea of a perfect day was the family getting together for a taco feed and pictures, pictures, pictures.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Lou Wolf; son, Tommy (Ruth) Smith; daughters: Teresa L. Smith and Vicki R. (Ed) Essary; sister, Josephine Nordman; eight grandchildren: Donna, Tina, Cody, Brent, Megan, Ryan, Kristina and Nic; 10 great-grandchildren; one great- great-grandchild and one on the way; also numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, brothers: Claude and Dale Engler.
Memorial service will be on Friday, October 11, 2013, at 12:10 p.m. at St. Josephs Church, 800 W. Stanton St., Roseburg with reception to follow at St. Joseph Parish Center. Viewing will be Thursday, October 10, from 3-6 p.m. at Taylor’s Mortuary in Winston.
