ROSEBURG: Tips to improve health explored

The Umpqua Community Veg Education group plans to present a video presentation, “Uprooting the Leading Causes of Death,” on Jan. 25 at the Holiday Inn Express conference room.

The forum is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. at the inn at 375 Harvard Ave. Admission is free.

The video offers information about mortality among affluent societies and features Dr. Michael Greger, a physician, speaker and author based in Washington, D.C. He will offer nutritional advice to help avoid Type 11 diabetes, coronary heart disease and certain forms of cancer.

UC-VEG is a grass-roots, nonprofit gathering of volunteers interested in educating others about holistic health, sustainability and the benefits of a plant-based nutrition.
