Geri Reid is now in paradise with Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior. She passed peacefully into His arms surrounded by her family and friends. The daughter of Lee and Martha Merchant, Geri grew up in Roseburg, graduating from Roseburg High School with the Class of 1947.
She married her husband Robert Graham Reid in Roseburg. They lived for a while in Portland, OR, before moving to southern California, where she raised her two children, Linda and Bob, worked as an executive secretary for many years and was active in her church. Known as fun-loving and sociable, she spent her retirement years travelling with friends, singing in the choir and enjoying time with her classmates at various reunion events.
She is survived by her children, son-in-law Mark and daughter-in-law Diane. A chapel service will be held at Wilson’s Chapel of the Roses 965 W. Harvard Street in Roseburg at 1:00 p.m. January 15, 2014. Friends are welcome to join for lunch afterwards to share favorite stories about Geri.
