Age 62, of Portland, OR, died Monday, December 30, 2013. She was born April 6, 1951, in Roseburg, to Dr. John and Marie Verberkmoes. Annie, the youngest of three children, grew up in Roseburg, lived through the Roseburg Blast of 1959, and graduated from Roseburg Senior High School in 1969. She was a graduate of University of Oregon and completed the Radiation Therapy program of Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland. She had a rewarding and interesting career at OHSU for the next thirty-seven years as an X-ray technologist and CT scanner.
A wonderful mother, she raised her beloved daughter, Shannon Marie Verberkmoes. Annie was a world traveler seeing much of Europe and North Africa and always enjoyed experiencing new things in life. She loved swimming with the sea turtles in Hawaii. Also, she enjoyed gardening and was a voracious reader.
Beloved mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, we will miss her. She is survived by her daughter, Shannon McGill; brother, John Verberkmoes and wife Andrea; brother, Marty Verberkmoes; nieces, Meghan, Meredith, and Jan Verberkmoes; various cousins; and her very good friend of many years, John Overman.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
