Don was taken from us suddenly on Tuesday, November 19, 2013. He was born on September 12, 1936 at home, in Myrtle Point, OR. He was the first of six children born to Chub and Marion (Whitney) Loomis.
He leaves behind his soul mate and one true love of his life, his wife, Aileen; his only child, son Kevin of New York City, to whom he was a very loving and devoted dad; grandson, Chance Dickey of Roseburg, OR, with whom he had a special bond and a mutual admiration; a special “Aunt” Bea Goad of Oakridge, OR, who being the first to hold him at his birth, never lost the close loving relationship between them; and Mary Jones of Roseburg, friend and important member of his extended family; four siblings; one brother, Dick and wife Trisha of Sacramento, CA; three sisters: Sandra of Redmond, OR; Mary Jo and husband Gary Heath of Kaysville, UT; Ruth Galtieri of Roseville, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Rick, a casualty of Vietnam. He is sadly missed by so many people he had special lifelong friendships with, and many business associates, many of which had developed into true and abiding friends over the years. He was a truly wonderful man.
There will be a celebration of his life on Friday, January 24, 2014, 11:30 a.m. at Wilson’s Chapel of the Roses at 965 W. Harvard Ave, Roseburg, OR, followed by a luncheon at the Holiday Inn Express at 375 W. Harvard Ave. Roseburg.
