Police are investigating a dead body discovered in the bushes just after 1 p.m. today near the east end of the Stewart Park disc golf course in Roseburg.
No foul play is suspected in her death, Roseburg Police Officer Doug Walton said.
The woman, whom police say is in her 40s to 50s, was found by a disc golfer during a game.
She was not immediately identified.
She was off the path close to the fence separating the park and Interstate 5.
The body had likely been there less than a day, Walton said.
Walton described the woman as 5’6 to 5’8 with brown hair and weighing approximately 170 pounds.
Walton said it is unclear how the woman got in the bushes, but she could have walked there.
She had no visible wounds, he said.
Deputy Travis Terry and detective Joe Kaney were also on scene.
Two people from Wilson’s Chapel of the Roses funeral home picked up the body.
