Letter: Susan Rice is National Security Advisor, more than 170 immigrants convicted of felonies released; are we safe yet?

Do you feel safer, now?

I’m sure there is a lot more to report on Bowe Bergdahl and his Afghanistan situation, but as usual, this administration has already sent out its experts on it. Good old Susan Rice (she of the five false statements about a YouTube video being responsible for the Benghazi attack).

This time she said Bergdahl has served with “honor and distinction.” Ask any veteran: Is walking away from your post during war time “honorable?” I believe 99 percent would call it desertion.

Rice also stated that he had been “captured on the battlefield.” Say what? The administration’s reply was that Rice didn’t mean what she said. What she meant wasn’t the words that came out of her mouth, what she meant was ... Need I go further about this gobbly-goop?

On June 5, six members of Bergdahl’s platoon (including his roommate) were asked on Fox News if they thought Bergdahl deserted. All six raised their hands in the affirmative. I choose to believe the heros who were actually there, not some bureaucrats who don’t know what they are talking about. By the way, Susan Rice is our national security adviser. Do you feel safer when she opens her mouth?

Speaking of feeling safe, are you aware that Immigration and Customs Enforcement released 36,000 immigrants in 2013? The releases included 116 convicted of homicide, 43 for negligent manslaughter and 14 for voluntary manslaughter. Partly because of a Supreme Count decision in 2001, this administration can’t do a thing about it. How about Obama writing one of his infamous ‘instant laws?” Do you still feel safer?
