Letter: Roseburg Veterans Affairs Medical Center needs a director whose first concern is to serve the veterans

Call to remove Dir. Bogedain

The Roseburg Veterans Affairs Medical Center has had different directors over the years, but Carol Bogedain is one of a kind. She has her own agenda and it is all about her. There’s no room in her world for the veterans she is supposed to serve.

Ms. Bogedain has proven she comes first and we are coincidental. She is the embodiment of what the Veterans Administration wants out of their system. She should be removed from her position as director immediately and never allowed to work for the Veterans Administration again.

I am a Vietnam era veteran who has received treatment at several VA facilities and I’ve received the proper treatment from all of them. The Roseburg VA used to be such a place — that is, until Carol Bogedain. She has categorically run it into the ground. Tomorrow could not be soon enough for her to leave.

With a more responsible director, we can recover and be proud of our VA again. For now, it is an embarrassment and a joke, because of her.

There should be no separation package or severance pay, just an immediate Notice of Dismissal and her full reimbursement of her $9,000 bonus.

She has proven she does not deserve the privilege of serving veterans.
