Letter: Vote 'yes' on Glide Fire Bond

Say “yes” to Glide’s Fire Bond. The fire department has proved the need, the benefits to the community and contained the costs of a new fire station.

The need: The current station is worn out and won’t last much longer without major repairs.

The benefits: There would be faster response time, a sub-station to spread the equipment out to where it is needed and space to keep all the equipment protected from the weather.

Contained costs: Four years ago, the fire department asked for $3.85 million; now they are asking for $2.5 million. A station any smaller won’t do the job we are asking our fire department to do. Please vote “yes.”
