Letter: Not a supporter of Larry Rich

Not a supporter of Larry Rich

This is in response to an Oct. 21 letter to The News-Review. Could the writer have possibly reinforced the policy of Mayor Larry Rich any more demonstratively? What is Larry’s policy? “... decisions based on fairness, not favors.”

I know for a fact that the writer supported Mayor Rich when I ran against him in 2008. They both appeared to be good friends. Now the writer claims “term limits” should apply to our mayor in Roseburg. Why now? Could it possibly have anything at all to do with the attempted sale of an airport property building to a non-aviation related entity? Larry could not and should not have supported that sale. The letter writer should think back, he lost by a majority vote of the city council. Now it seems he is no longer Larry’s friend. That reeks of playground childishness. But hey, I thank the writer for publicly driving home Larry Rich’s policy, ”decisions based on fairness, not favors.”
