Letter: Four Chaplains memory honored Feb. 9 at the American Legion post in Roseburg

4 Chaplains honored

Jim Little’s Feb. 1 guest column in The News-Review was a wonderful article. He reminded the public about such an impressive story. The public should never forget what happened that day at sea. It is fast becoming a time when World War II history will fade away with its thousands of stories of bravery, sacrifice and duty to country by our mariners and their ships. It is also the history and stories of the men of God who were with them in battle, to give courage and strength and the promise of what is yet to come. All this will be lost forever, unless brave men and the generations to come keep it alive.

We will be at the ceremony at the American Legion Post in Roseburg on Saturday and will pray for our veterans and our chaplains, those of the past, those of today, and those yet to come. May we never let the people forget!
