College Baseball: Heineman’s HR lifts Ducks past UP

PORTLAND (AP) — Scott Heineman came up big for the Oregon Ducks again on Tuesday at Portland. The reigning Pac-12 Player of the Week launched a two-out, three-run home run to left-center field to break a tie game and give No. 10 Oregon a 4-1 non-conference win at Joe Etzel Field.

Ryon Healy launched a two-out solo home run in the top of the seventh inning for Oregon to tie the game at 1-1.

Mitchell Tolman led Oregon (28-8), going 2-for-3 at the plate.

Oregon closer Jimmie Sherfy faced four batters in the bottom of the ninth, striking out the side to earn his 12th save of the season, tied for the national lead.
