Letter: Thoughts on gay marriage and immigration issues

Let voters decide issues

Gay marriages: The question of whether gay couples should be given the right to be legally married should not be decided by the government, a judge or any other entity. It must be decided by a referendum vote by the people and the sooner, the better. Why not in the upcoming 2014 election? The results should prompt Congress to act accordingly and make it the law of the land.

Immigration: Before any immigration policy can be agreed upon and made into law, the border must be sealed. It could be done by a National Guard system or another adequate system. But it must be sealed for any plan to be successful. Right now, as far as I am concerned, we have an open border.
