Letter: Honor our flag by saying the Pledge of Allegiance correctly

Pledge to our flag correctly

I was at the city council meeting on June 10. When they did the pledge of allegiance, I noticed they said it incorrectly. I have noticed over the years that many say it wrong.

In 1954, when they inserted “under God,” people put a pause before “under God.” If you look it up in Wikipedia you will see that it is supposed to be “One Nation under God.” It is not “One Nation, under God.”

This one of the highest honors we give our flag. I think it deserves an article in a prominent part of the newspaper to let everyone know the correct way to give the Pledge.
