Letter: Homeless camp a vital resource

Homeless camp a vital resource

In regards to the recent article and meeting about a proposed camp for those without housing, I feel this is a huge step forward. To oppose a safe, dry space for people to live in is taking away a person’s inalienable rights. People deserve a space to live without having to put their emotions and actions in the scrutiny of the public.

It is a misconception that everyone has a place to go. The mission and other shelters have restrictions, therefore not accepting everyone. While a camp is not a solution, it is a huge step forward and an immediate action that can be taken for someone to transition into stable and warm housing.
