Letter: Responding to June 26 letters and government policies

Thoughts on govt. policies

This is in regards to a couple of letters from June 26. The GOP and the tea party are blamed for pretty much everything.

On global warming, there are as many studies debunking global warming as there are studies for it. Whom are you going to believe?

On gun control: the NSA is bugging our phones and emails; the IRS is profiling those on the right and the tea party.

The Obama administration is choosing which laws it will enforce; its complete incompetence and its disinformation on Benghazi. This is the exact reason for the Second Amendment — a government out of control. Thomas Jefferson said, “The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions that I wish it to be always kept alive.”

I think most people would like to see immigration reform, but it has to have some teeth. It has to be enforceable, and not just a free ride.

As for blocking progress, Obama policies do that and it’s going to get worse in the next few years. Gas prices may double, as will natural gas and electricity rates. This is going to hurt the working class, the ones paying the taxes, and of course, the poor — the very people who voted for Obama. But he already bought your vote. Now you’ll pay the price for the next three years or longer.

As for obstructing Obama’s agenda, yeah, we see America headed in a dangerous direction and we if we can’t stop it, at least slow it down. It’s called freedom. As for making Obama look like a nothing president, he needs no help!

“I can retain neither respect nor affection for a government that has been moving from one wrong to another in order to defend its immorality.” — Mahatma Gandhi
