Conservative view of issues
A June 26 letter writer who is a self-described published fiction author and victimized Jew has once again chosen to practice her craft at the expense of conservatives. As a conservative, I will point out her errors. I believe in climate change, not in Al Gore. Enforce the thousands of gun laws we have — no registration.
As for the current growth of the financial sector, I believe we can lay that at the feet of Obama, Tim Geithner, Bernanke and their stimulus packages giving the banks more money than they can count.
As for past civilizations and ours: There is a direct correlation between the fall of Rome and what our emperor and senate are doing to us. Rome’s emperor and senate tried to bribe the population with freebies the state could not afford, paid for with money they did not have. They welcomed the Visigoths, who illegally crossed their border looking for a better life, only to have them destroy the Western Empire.
Now lest we forget, let us go to abortion. I am against abortion as a convenient method of birth control and against letting teenage girls get them without their parents’ consent. I wonder what the letter writer would say if Planned Parenthood were funded not by big government, but instead by the five largest banks, and instead of suction tubes and scissors they used AK-47s to kill the 333,964 potential grade-schoolers they killed in 2011. Another June 26 letter writer’s literary distortion deserves a response too, but not today.
