Letter: Why do we keep sending them back?

Middle class foots the bill

It’s the end of the Republic, the rise of the oligarchy.

Don’t get me wrong; it has been going on for years. It isn’t just the Obama regime, it’s from both parties. It’s about power, control, and of course, money.

Let’s look at what’s been going on at our expense. Legislators have their own gym, barber, special cars, planes, extra staff, expense accounts, health care and retirement plans. When they leave office, they have even more perks. They are much better off than the servicemen and women who protect them, and we keep electing them back year after year. One might ask, “Why?”

The poor are ever growing and more dependent on government than before and in too many cases, not trying to be independent. The very rich don’t care much what government does; they can make money anywhere, passing on the extra expense to us.

We in the middle are stuck paying the bills, yet we keep sending them back to stick it to us. Why?

Charles F. Cooper
