Police Log: Criminal mischief in Roseburg

These logs are the highlights of initial emergency calls and reports to the Douglas County Dispatch Center. They do not represent all the incidents or their final outcomes.



Douglas County sheriff

11:19 a.m. — Criminal mischief to a car in the 2900 block of Old Highway 99 South, Roseburg.

12:13 p.m. — Possible sinkhole in the 8400 block of Old Highway 99 North, Roseburg. The sinkhole is about 4 feet square and the road is sunken between 6 and 8 inches.

2:16 p.m. — Report of sulfur or natural gas in the area of Lookingglas Road and Dairy Loop Road, Lookingglass. The caller was advised that Avista put in new gas lines about an hour before.

3:46 p.m. — Oxycodone was stolen in the 3000 block of Joanne Drive, Roseburg.

5:17 p.m. — A boulder was in the middle of the road in the area of Buckhorn Road and Karma Lane, Dixonville.

9:14 p.m. — A man found his mailbox smashed in the 1700 block of North Myrtle Road, Myrtle Creek.



Douglas County sheriff

9:50 a.m. —A blue Jetta ran off the road and into a guardrail on Interstate 5 northbound near Milepost 99, Canyonville. Unknown injuries.

3:06 p.m. — Two-vehicle accident involving a white Econoline van and a Toyota RAV 4 in the 15000 block of Old Highway 99 South, Myrtle Creek. There was lane blockage in the middle of the road. One woman was conscious but bleeding.

Myrtle Creek Police

Jedidiah Dalton Vanpelt, 26, Myrtle Creek, on suspicion of assaulting a public safety officer, four counts of hit-and-run, two counts of reckless driving, interfering with a police officer, resisting arrest, two counts of recklessly endangering another person, first-degree criminal mischief, second-degree criminal mischief and driving under the influence of intoxicants.
