Letter: Petulant politicians forfeit votes

Look at the positive side

I have a new positive outlook because of the Republicans in Washington, D.C.

Initially I was angered by their petulant behavior which reminds me of a small child who flops to the floor in the grocery store kicking his feet and screaming, demanding candy and all the while oblivious to the pleas of his mother.

However, with a few days’ reflection I’ve come to realize those Republicans have preformed a great service. Their actions will save me considerable time in the future.

From now on elections will be quick and easy. I will no longer need to spend time reading about the candidates’ positions. I won’t have to listen to debates to hear what they have to say. Although there may be occasions I will have to hold my nose when I mark my ballot, I positively will never again vote for a Republican running for any national public office.
