Letter: Block coal transportation through our state

Keep Oregon clean, healthy

Oregonians have a long-standing commitment to clean, renewable energy, a healthy environment and supporting solutions to climate change. But out-of-state coal corporations want to use Oregon to export their dirty coal to Asia.

Right now, the Oregon Division of State Lands is considering granting a permit to allow coal companies to ship their coal overseas through the Port of Morrow. Please contact Governor Kitzhaber and ask him to delay or deny this permit. We need to send a message to these coal companies that they cannot exploit or state to make their dirty dollars. Oregon is not coal country.
