Roseburg police say cyclist tossed methamphetamine

A Myrtle Creek man is accused of throwing a small amount of methamphetamine from his pocket when he was stopped for not having proper lighting on his bicycle, Roseburg police said today.

William Alfred Dorsey, 58, was arrested around 11:20 p.m. Wednesday in the 1200 block of Mill Street, police said.

Dorsey threw something from his pocket into a front yard when police tried to pull him over, police said. The item was found in the yard and contained methamphetamine, police said.

He was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine, tampering with evidence and a probation violation.

He was taken to Douglas County Jail, where he was held today in lieu of $56,250 bail.
