Police identify man found at Duck Pond

Roseburg police identified the man who was found dead in Stewart Park Friday morning as a 51-year-old Roseburg man with no permanent address.

Jack Eugene Glampe was found mid-morning near the Duck Pond, police said.

The circumstances of the death appeared to be suspicious, police said Friday. They did not elaborate today.

Officers responded to a report of a man lying on the ground and determined he was dead when they arrived.

Police, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the state medical examiner’s office have not yet determined the cause of death, police said.

The investigation is continuing.
