A Roseburg motorcyclist suffered leg injuries Monday afternoon when he ran a red light and collided into the side of a passing vehicle, Oregon State Police said today.
James Timothy Pohl, 44, was stopped behind a vehicle on Roberts Creek Road around 1 p.m. when the vehicle turned right onto Highway 42. Pohl then drove straight ahead through the red light, OSP Sgt. Matt Bowersox said today.
Pohl hit a westbound Kia driven by James Pitts, 45, of Winston, who had a green light on Highway 42, Bowersox said.
Pohl was taken by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center in Roseburg, where he was in fair condition today, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Pitts was uninjured, Bowersox said.
Pohl was cited on suspicion of failing to obey a traffic device.
