Letter: Celebrate Roseburg High School seniors, on and off the mat

RHS Seniors have last dual

The No. 1 ranked Roseburg High School wrestling team is fresh off a 10-day period when they defeated the No. 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 ranked teams in duals. They have won five of the last seven 6A state titles.

On Thursday, January 30, they will host Eagle Point in their last home dual of the year. It is also Senior Night, when the senior wrestlers and their parents will be honored. It is a special time for high school athletes.

Being part of the most successful sports program at RHS takes dedication, discipline and, of course, talent. These young men have been part of two state titles (and are on track to win another one this year). This provides our community with an opportunity to come out and show its appreciation for these student athletes (the wrestling team is at or near the top academic team every year as well).

Junior Varsity starts at 5:45 p.m., Varsity at 7 p.m. Former RHS athletes, you know the feeling you had on your Senior Night; come out and help these guys have that same experience!
