A head-on collision on Interstate 5 near milepost 124 killed two people early Sunday morning, according to Oregon State Police.
At about 3 a.m., state troopers responded to the report of a two vehicle head-on crash on Interstate 5 near milepost 124, according to a press release.
According to state police, a preliminary investigation revealed a 2014 Ford Focus, driven by Brady Paul Golladay, 28, of Riddle, was traveling north in the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 at what is believed to be a high rate of speed. The Ford struck a southbound 2005 Volkswagen Jetta, driven by Roman Fedorov, 36, of Seattle, head-on near the 124 southbound on-ramp. Both drivers, adult males, died at the scene. There were no other occupants in the vehicles.
Police have not determined whether the occupants were wearing seatbelt, but believe that Golladay had consumed alcohol which contributed to the crash.
OSP was assisted by the Roseburg Police Department, the Roseburg Fire Department and the Oregon Department of Transportation. The highway was reduced to one southbound of travel until approximately 6 a.m.
