RIDDLE Man arrested while watering pot plants A 63-year-old man was arrested Saturday and accused of growing marijuana in a federal forest in the Union Creek drainage west of Riddle. John Calvin Scharer, whose last known address was in Ashland, was watering his crop when officers raided the garden, according to the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team. More than 70 marijuana plants were confiscated, according to DINT. Most of the plants were between 2 and 3 feet tall.
