WINCHESTER — A woman was pulled from her car Tuesday after she drove into the North Umpqua River at Amacher Park in an apparent suicide attempt, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff’s Sgt. Jerry Tilley said a deputy on patrol witnessed the woman slowly drive her car into the river. The car got stuck before it became submerged. Officers waded into the ankle-deep water to remove the woman, Tilley said. She was not injured.
