Commentary: Corban’s Bennett stays tough despite injury

This isn’t the kind of senior season Tess Bennett envisioned. The personable 21-year-old Corban University women’s basketball player, a former Sutherlin High standout, tore the MCL (medial collateral ligament) in her left knee during preseason practice. She opted to rehab and delay a likely surgery in order to get back on the court, and missed the Warriors’ opening two regular season games before returning on Nov. 9 against the University of Great Falls. It has been frustrating for Bennett and the Warriors, who own a 4-15 season record and are 1-8 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference heading into tonight’s game …
