Supply drive benefits Saving Grace Pet Adoption Center

A day of service by volunteers raised supplies and money to give a daily treat to animals at the Saving Grace Pet Adoption Center. AmeriCorps program coordinator Desiree Casey-Motley and 13 Saving Grace junior volunteers held a supply drive in front of the Douglas County Farmers Co-op on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Saving Grace Executive Director Wendy Kang said the group primarily asked for wood pellets, pig ears, rawhide toys and cash. The Winchester shelter uses the wood pellets for kitty litter because it is more economical and tries to give each dog something new to chew on every …
