A 19-year-old Sutherlin man was arrested Thursday and accused of throwing the rock from an Interstate 5 overpass that caused a Nov. 26 vehicle crash that injured two University of Oregon distance runners. Matthew Logan McKinney was taken into custody by the Oregon State Police on suspicion of second-degree assault, first-degree criminal mischief, recklessly endangering another person, throwing an object off an overpass and fourth-degree assault. “It’s a terrific feeling for the victims and their families and the people who worked this case,” OSP Lt.
