Douglas County residents react to end of Saturday mail delivery

If the U.S. Postal Service stops Saturday delivery in August, ending a 150-year-old practice of bringing mail at least six days a week, it may take a while to get accustomed to weekday-only service. “We’re so used to Saturday deliveries it’s going to be a shock,” Roseburg resident Lloyd Scherbinske said Wednesday. Even so, Scherbinske said he doesn’t believe the loss of one day of mail delivery will have a huge effect on him. “My position is that it won’t make much difference,” he said.
