Roseburg woman accused of making false health care claims

A Roseburg woman is accused of stealing more than $9,000 by filing false health care claims with the Oregon Department of Human Services. Patricia Maechelle Heinecke, 51, was booked into the Douglas County Jail on Tuesday and released. A grand jury this week forwarded an indictment alleging 17 felonies ­­— eight counts of making a false health care claim and nine counts of theft by deception. The alleged thefts took place over four years, beginning in May 2009 and ending Dec. 31, 2012. A special prosecutor with the Oregon Department of Justice has been appointed to the case.
