Woman sues Umpqua Community College for cooking class mishap

A Roseburg woman is suing Umpqua Community College for up to $220,000, alleging that the school’s negligence led to her hand being mangled in a mixer in a cooking class. Attorneys for the college and the plaintiff, Lynette Conner, 58, were in Douglas County Circuit Court for a short hearing Monday and confirmed with Judge Randy Garrison that the parties planned to proceed with a three-day jury trial beginning March 19.
