A Sutherlin man was booked in jail on numerous charges over the weekend after he allegedly fled from police and leapt from his van as it continued along a driveway. Police say Roy Wayne “Dandy” Byrd, 40, tried running from Officer Erik Johnson after failing to yield at a traffic stop. The parolee is being held in Douglas County Jail on suspicion of multiple drug and weapons charges, as well as third-degree escape and attempting to elude police.
