SNOW NEWS: Interstate 5 reopens 14 miles south of Cottage Grove

Interstate 5 south of Cottage Grove reopened at 8 a.m. today, following a semi truck fire that closed 14 miles of the road for two hours, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation.

Both northbound lanes are open and one southbound lane is open as crews remove the burned truck, ODOT said. Drivers should expect delays as traffic backups clear.

ODOT cautioned motorists about heavy snowfall in the area. Chains are required for heavier vehicles.
