LaVera passed away at home Monday, November 6, 2017, at age 60, from complications following a medical procedure.

LaVera was born to William and Dorothy (Hennigan) Cochran on June 20, 1957. She graduated from Roseburg High School in 1975, and went on to study at Umpqua Community College, completing her Associates Degree. She worked in the banking industry for many years until she returned to UCC and worked there for 20 years. She worked her way up and became Admissions Officer. She loved her job, her co-workers, and made many friends and loved them all dearly.

LaVera was very active, going skiing, four wheeling on the dunes, bowling, and helping her husband, Dan, do projects around the house. She loved anything to do with the arts, and taking trips with Dan on their motorcycle. She was a great Oregon Ducks fan.

LaVera was preceded in death by her parents, William and Dorothy Cochran. She is survived by her loving husband, Dan Noland; stepsons, Ian, Isaac and Jacob Noland; uncle, Dave and Marva Cochran; aunt, Ida Everett; numerous cousins including, Randy and Rhonda Henry, Sandy King, Kim and Leslie Henry, Wanda Cochran, Ruth Curwick, Joe Everett, Richard Everett, Chris Everett; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 26, 2017 at 1 p.m. in the Lang Center Wine Institute on the UCC campus.

In lieu of flowers, LaVera would be most honored by a donation to the LaVera Noland Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o UCC Foundation, P.O. Box 967, Roseburg, OR 97470.
