Roy Clarence Howard went home to be with our heavenly father on October 9, 2018. He was an amazing husband, father, brother, uncle, papa and friend.
He was born in Lampasas, Texas, traveled for his work and lived in many places; ultimately retiring in Myrtle Creek, Oregon, where he thoroughly enjoyed his new friends and working on his home.
He leaves behind his wife Darcy Howard; daughter, Tina Brock; son, Austin Berry; daughter, Ashley Coatney; two sisters, Debbie Howard and Becky Sabine; four brothers, Rod, Keith, Mike Metter and Maurice Howard; three grandchildren, Chris and Charles Brock, and Janelle Mccolley; and four great-grandchildren.
Roy was one of the most amazing persons you could ever meet; so full of love, compassion and his generosity was always through the roof. Those who were blessed enough to be his friend truly felt his love and kindness.
Roy enjoyed so many activities, being mischievous with his buddies, boating, camping and traveling, most of all spending time with friends and family. His famous last words were always, “just one more”.
Roy served his country as a US Marine and fought in the Vietnam War. He was discharged with full honors.
Roy was laid to rest at the Roseburg National Cemetery on October 16th, 2018, at 1 p.m.
