Shirley Dahl-Williams, age 92, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at her home in Roseburg, OR. Shirley was born on July 7, 1924, in Calgary, Alberta.

After finishing high school, Shirley moved to Seattle, WA, where she met and married Bob Williams. Bob was a career US Navy Chief. Shirley acquired an MA Degree in Education from UCLA. She then worked as an elementary school teacher and librarian in California and Washington.

Following Bob’s retirement the couple moved to San Juan Island, WA, where they lived for 18 years before moving on to Bend and Roseburg, OR. They spent many happy months traveling the country in their RV. Shirley was an avid genealogist and wrote several family history books. She was also a talented fiber artist creating colorful quilts for her loved ones.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Bob. She is survived by her daughter, Terre Matthews of Taos, NM, her son, Mark Williams of Roseburg, and three grandchildren, Jennifer Murphy of Eugene, Erin Matthews of Los Angeles and Noah Williams of Issaquah, WA. A memorial service and interment will be held at a later date on San Juan Island, WA.
