THEA EVAN SHANKS
Thea Evan Shanks, age 36, of Roseburg Oregon, quietly passed away on November 22nd, 2018, surrounded by loved ones. Thea was born October 31st, 1982, in Sacramento, California, to her loving parents, Ronald and Melissa Tempest.
Thea grew up in Glide and attended school there until graduating from Glide High School in 2001. She then moved to Roseburg, where she met her husband, Chris, in 2005. They were married on August 25th, 2007. On December 30th, 2008, Thea gave birth to their son Dylan Cory Shanks.
Thea was known and loved by many, not only for her loving personality, but for her love of children. She spent many years as a day care provider and loved each child as her own.
Thea is preceded in death by her grandpa, Richard, and brother in law, Cory Shanks. Thea is survived by her husband, Chris Alan Shanks; their son, Dylan Cory Shanks; her mother and father, Ronald and Melissa Tempest; her grandma, Shannon; grandpa, Sandy; grandma, Grace; her sister and brother in-law, Jennifer and Trevor Oliver; nieces, Cheyenne and Misty; as well as her Aunt Sarah and Uncle Larry. She is also survived by her bonus family, Trevor and Katrina Southworth as well as her father and mother in law, Dave and Kathy Shanks.
There will be a celebration of life held for Thea on December 15th, 2018, at 1 p.m. at the fairgrounds. Thea is also survived by multitudes of people she lovingly nicknamed niece, nephew, sister, brother, mom, dad and best friend. She is loved by many and forgotten by none. She shone bright on earth and is now the most beautiful Angel in Heaven. Her family would like to thank everyone for their kind words and shared memories in this most difficult time. Thea, we love you to the moon and back.
SHARON IONE SINGLETON
Sharon Ione Singleton, age 75, of Riddle, OR, was lost to us on October 14, 2018. She spent her last day surrounded by many loved ones and old friends from Roseburg Lumber.
Sharon is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Jami (Cowley) and Preston Peters; her grandson, Robert (Nikki) Cowley; her great-granddaughter, Elvira; sister, Ardie Arms of Reno, NV; and brother, Ron Singleton of Canyonville. She will be deeply missed.
Sharon helped raise her adopted nieces, Donna Joy of Myrtle Creek, Cathy (Terry) Egenhoff of Missoula, MT, Vicki Joy of Dayton NV, and nephew Mark (Jennifer) Joy of Yakima, WA. She enjoyed spending time with numerous great-nieces and nephews.
She spent the last years in the company of her faithful dog, Joey.
A celebration of life (potluck) will be held at the Riddle Masonic Lodge on Saturday, December 8, 2018, at 10 a.m.
