I’ve had the privilege to work with Commissioner Freeman and Commissioner Boice long before they took office for Douglas County. I wholeheartedly agree with the Roseburg Chamber of Commerce and their vocal support of Freeman and Boice, as their work for the residents, communities and the businesses that support them has been stellar.
As a former county commissioner of an O&C County, I can tell you first hand, we do it because of our passion for our neighbors, children and the betterment of the lives of the people we represent. No one commissioner has more passion for their residents and communities than Freeman and Boice. I supported Commissioner Freeman’s election as President of the Association of O&C Counties, where he has been subsequently elected to this important position every year since. O&C Counties are unique nationally, and Commissioner Freeman’s great understanding and advocacy on these critical issues is incredibly important, not only to Douglas County, but Coos, Curry, Josephine, Jackson and Polk counties — seventeen in total represented by the Association of O&C Counties.
I also had the pleasure of working with commissioners Freeman and Boice as the Association of Oregon Counties District 4 chairman, representing Curry, Coos, Douglas, Josephine and Jackson counties. I was again impressed by their level of engagement and advocacy for services on behalf of their residents. Both commissioners Boice and Freeman have a deep understanding of the economic drivers of Douglas County and the services vital to our residents.
It is an honor to work with Commissioner Freeman and Commissioner Boice for the residents, businesses and communities of Douglas County. I respectfully request that you support the future of Douglas County and cast your vote for Freeman and Boice.
