I recently read a book named “Dark Winter” by John Casey, a weather scientist, who has just put Al Gore & the rest of the “alarmists” of Florida being under water in 10 years. etc. in their place. Casey said, “Climate change is only caused by the sun and the cycles the sun goes through with warming and cooling. It is not caused by man!”

Casey is president of Space & Science Research Cooperation. I think he knows more than Al Gore who made millions off his scare book. Plus, Gore’s scare tactics have cost America much money. And Gore flies around in his gas guzzling jet.

According to Casey we are now in a global cooling period, beginning in 2007, and will run for more than 20 years. This will shorten the growing season which may cause shortages in food and power. Now that you have prepared for Gore’s warming it is time to prepare for cold weather, maybe like we have seen this winter. We have just gone through a period of global warming from 1980 until 2007. That is over.

Casey stated in his book, “ The theory of man-made global warming & climate change based on human greenhouse gas emissions is the greatest international scientific fraud ever perpetrated on the world’s citizens.” In fact Casey predicts the next few years will be the worst cold in 200 years. If this is accurate you better save some dry foods for a cold, small crop period.

The Beacon last week had an article referring to cold weather is more dangerous than global warming. Check the weather stats since 2007 and you will see more cold records than we have seen in years. Seal pups are heavier this last year, polar bears are increasing in population, Antarctica is getting colder, Greenland ice is growing and mountain glaciers have stopped retreating. The sun’s radius has shrunk 82 kilometers since 1979. There has been a sharp drop in ultraviolet radiation.

Even NASA says there is a major cooling coming. Stop listening to rich liberals like Gore and prepare for a real climate change — global cooling.

Mr. Stuermer, at least you read something. And you obviously read the local newspaper as well. Well done. Many read nothing, only watching TV.
So perhaps you may be interested in reading a little more. There are a wealth of great books written by brilliant climatologists and Atmospheric Physics doctorates with more than a degree from a Jacksonville Florida Community college.
Many may peak your continuing interest in the subject, like; Pulitzer Prize winner, Elizabeth Kolbert's "The Sixth Extinction," or Gold Medal of the Royal Astronomical Society and Albert Einstein World Award of Science winner John T. Houghton's "In the Eye of the Storm".
I wish you continued learning and the joy of generous understanding.

Thanks for sharing the book titles. Very good letter.

Just because someone writes a book doesn't make them correct. It doesn't even mean they know what they are talking about. Al Gore might be overly cautious but I would rather error on the side of caution then take a change on global destruction due to man's own arrogance or greed. Greed being the main thing that drives some people know matter what they kill, break or steal in the process.

Does it take a huge ego to admit to the pollution in the air? Look at LA and the smog they generate. Fracking is causing earthquakes (look it up the increases in fracking areas are scary). Our dependence on fossil fuels (mainly gasoline) has us sucking up to terrorists. We have to stop abusing this planet today. If not we are going to leave a mess for the children. Just like in camping leave the place better then you found it.

Casey is correct. It takes a huge ego and a lack of common sense to conclude that humans can change the weather, for good or for bad.[cool]

Casey is a self-proclaimed 'Climate Scientist'. He has zero qualifications, had zero publications peer reviewed and is supported by zero 'fellow' scientists. Admittedly neither was Gore, but the conversation has been completely hijacked. Anthropomorphic climate change or not is irrelevant. The fact is climate change is happening, and whether heating or cooling we need to figure out what we can do to mitigate it now.

a very quick google search shows that John Casey is a crackpot scientist and has zero backing by true scientists.

how can you publish a letter with so much false information in it? it is a shame you do not vet letters anymore. The letter writer even quotes the Beacon. One more step closer News Review, you keep this up and you will be on par with them, is that really your goal. There are so many falsehoods in this letter it is laughable and a little bit or research will show otherwise.

I think that some people just feel that we have trashed this planet enough and need to treat it with some respect before it is ruined. There is nothing wrong with being a good steward of the earth. Let us leave this planet better for the next generation then how we received it.
