In May of this year, there will be elections in our county for various board member positions. One is of interest to me — the UCC Board of Directors Position 7 at-large member. Steve Loosley is running for that position.

I met Steve and and his wife Shelley when I joined the YMCA back in the time when the community was fund raising for another pool. Steve was a behind-the-scene kind of person that when given a task would approach it like a researcher using scientific inquiry to validate the need. Steve examines projects or situations with an open mind. He takes an analytical approach to problem solving driven more by practicality, common sense and relevant facts, rather than by emotions or peer pressure.

The UCC board of directors has had many dedicated and reputable community members over the years and I thank them for their service. UCC is facing even more complex issues than ever before in the coming years. UCC needs board members like Steve Loosley that have the time, energy and expertise to guide and grow one of Douglas County's most valuable resources.

Elect Steve Loosley Position 7 UCC Board of Directors.
