There’s no question that Tim Freeman is the best candidate for Douglas County Commissioner Position 2. Tim brings demonstrated experience to the office without being a career politician. No one can come close to Tim’s knowledge and understanding of complicated county timber issues and the significance to the county budget.

Commissioner Freeman’s experience as our representative in the Oregon Legislature has been a tremendous benefit to Douglas County during his first term as our county commissioner. It is because he was respected by peers on both sides of the aisle during his legislative days that Tim’s reputation and influence with legislators in Salem continues today.

At a minimum, the advantage to our community has come in the form of legislation passed for a future veterans home in Douglas County. And, of course, our community received initial and ongoing financial and other legislative support in response to the UCC tragedy.

Although his legislative tenure ended several years ago, Tim continues to have influence and a positive voice in Salem on behalf of rural Oregon and, specifically, Douglas County. No other candidate for county commissioner brings this significant advantage to the position and, ultimately, the citizens of our county.

Lastly, and most importantly, Tim cares about this community and our residents. I trust him. And, I trust that every decision he makes is founded in what he believes is best for Douglas County, now and for our future. For proven experience, leadership and reputation, I’m voting Tim Freeman for Douglas County commissioner.
