Okay, let’s be honest. Friday’s season opener between South Salem and Roseburg at Finlay Field was an ugly football game — as 26 penalties would attest. But the players and coaches will tell you every time they’ll take an ugly win over a pretty loss, and the Indians did enough good things to manage a 22-15 nonconference victory on a gorgeous summer night for football.
