Oregon’s Mariota responds to big-time hype

EUGENE — In life sometimes you are held to high expectations, and those expectations transcend into sports — especially in high school and college. The pressure can come from peers, parents and teammates. The expectations can be overwhelming or they can be a powerful motivating force. Results depend on how you withstand the pressure and respond. On Saturday, Oregon and Marcus Mariota, its redshirt freshman quarterback from Honalulu, had to step up and respond to that very pressure.
