UCC volleyball team splits league matches

WINCHESTER — The electricity was in the air in the Umpqua Community College gym Saturday as the Riverhawks hosted Mt. Hood, the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges’ No. 4-ranked team, in a Southern Region match. The Saints, the defending NWAACC champions, swept Umpqua by scores of 25-19, 26-24 and 26-24. Mt. Hood was led by Tori Kemper, who finished with 13 kills to go along with seven digs.
