Prep Softball: Roseburg’s Akers, Larkin sign with colleges

Makinna Akers will play college softball on the East Coast, while Megan Larkin will be heading to the Midwest. The two 17-year-old Rosburg High School seniors announced their decisions on Wednesday afternoon in a gathering at RHS. Akers, a pitcher, signed with NCAA Division I Boston University and Larkin, an infielder, signed with Division II St. Cloud (Minn.) State. “I’m very proud of these two girls, academically and athletically,” said RHS softball coach Tony Campos. “I knew Makinna had the potential to play at the next level.
