WINCHESTER — Umpqua Community College women’s basketball coach Dave Stricklin is taking a “wait and see” perspective on his 2012-13 team, but says the early signs have been positive. The Riverhawks have a 6-0 record and two tournament titles in the books, averaging 87.7 points a game. They’re shooting 45 percent from the field overall, 39 percent from 3-point range and 82 percent from the line in Stricklin’s up-tempo system.
