SALEM — The Roseburg High girls basketball team reached its best start since the 2005-06 season by improving to 7-0 Saturday. It took an big effort to get there. Pele Gianotti capped her biggest game as an Indian by hitting the game-winner to deliver a 57-55 win over South Salem in the South Salem Tournament championship game. Gianotti, a junior forward, finished with 30 points and 15 rebounds. Katie McWilliams made a jumper to erase a four-point Roseburg lead with 35 seconds left, but Gianotti rebounded Shelby Snook’s miss with 10 seconds left and sunk a 10-footer for the win. …
